Course contents:
Risk, Return and Price are sometimes collectively referred to as the 'big 3' of finance. Accordingly, from the standpoint of both individual investors and corporate financial decision makers, students will study risk metrics, risk profiling and risk management, as well as interest rate analysis and asset valuation, primarily vis-ā-vis stock and bond securities markets. Exposure to fresh insights and perspectives will add a new dimension to students understanding of financial concepts.
Learning goals:
Students who complete this course should acquire a greater appreciation for both financial theory and practice and for the critical roles financial stakeholders play in the global financial markets. Students should be able to more readily identify and address issues related to risk, return and valuation in every-day financial endeavors.
Literature:
Hardcopies of the professors copyrighted notes will be distributed to students in lieu of a textbook. Supplementary implements include web resources and multimedia case studies, in the latter case as time permits.
