Performance testing which is sometimes treated as a part of system
testing tries to show that the application is not
able to fulfill its task in the amount of time it is supposed to. This
does not only include an acceptable output speed on the
screen, but also the performance of processes running in the
background.
A famous example for this is a financial accounting
program that has been written in the United States which needed over
twenty four hours for its daily closing.
