In the framework of the Research Training Group "Modelling, analysis and simulation in economy mathematics" founded by the DFG, the Faculty of Mathematics and Economics offers
starting from 01.04.2005
6 postgraduate scholarships
for at most three years.
1 postdoctoral scholarship
for at most tow years
The main target of the research training group is the investigation of questions from areas of economy by means of mathematical modelling, analysis and simulation. These are acquired in cooperation with industry partners outside the university and belong to the following fields:
- Valuation of complex financial products
- Risk analysis and management
- Optimal strategies
- Econometric analysis and strategies
- Knowlegde Discovery and Data Mining
To solve the formulated problems the colllege students will be concerned with the following research emphases:
- Stochastical models, their analysis and simulation
- Statistical inference and data analysis
- Stochastische Steuerungen und Optimierung
- Partial differential equations and functional analysis
- Financial mathematical modelling and analysis
- Numerical analysis and simulation
- Methods of software development and of software quality management
In this research training group college students will in principle be advised by two professors and one cooperating industry partner. Furthermore each year a college-workshop will take place in which the industry partners will participate. Graduates of mathematical oriented courses send their meaningful application documents (certifications, curriculum vitae, photograph) before 12.02.2005 to the speaker of the research training program. Please also fill the application form.
